Save every open tab in one step

How to Bookmark All Open Tabs at Once in Chrome and Edge

Chrome and Edge can both bookmark all of your open tabs into one folder with a single shortcut, Ctrl+Shift+D on Windows or Cmd+Shift+D on Mac. It is a quick way to keep a set of pages before you close them. If you want the set to come back as a project with a note, a saved workspace may fit better.

Your Current Challenges

Too many tabs open to find the one you need
Wanting to close tabs without losing the pages
Bookmarking tabs one at a time
Forgetting why a set of pages was saved

Use Cases

Researchers wrapping up a reading session
Students saving sources for an assignment
Freelancers closing out one client before starting another
Anyone clearing tabs at the end of the day

How NexaTabs Helps

To bookmark all open tabs at once, press Ctrl+Shift+D on Windows or Cmd+Shift+D on Mac in Chrome or Edge, name the new folder, and save it.

In Chrome
- Press Ctrl+Shift+D, or open the three-dot menu, choose Bookmarks and lists, then Bookmark all tabs.
- Chrome creates a new folder with every tab in the current window. Give it a clear name and pick where it goes, such as the bookmarks bar or Other bookmarks.

In Edge
- Press Ctrl+Shift+D, or right-click any tab and choose Add all tabs to favorites.
- Edge creates a new favorites folder. Name it and choose a parent folder.

Good to know
- Only the tabs in the current window are saved. Repeat the step in each window you want to keep.
- Bookmarking does not close anything. Close the tabs yourself once the folder is saved.
- To reopen the set later, right-click the folder and choose the option to open all bookmarks.

When a saved workspace fits better
A bookmark folder is great for links you want to keep for a long time. For a project you are pausing for a few days or weeks, a named workspace keeps the tabs together with a note on why they matter, and closes them in the same step. Many people use both: a bookmark folder for reference links, and a workspace for active project tabs.

Honest limits
Bookmarks and saved workspaces both keep page addresses, not unsaved form input or scroll position, so finish or copy anything important first. NexaTabs has no cross-device sync, so a workspace lives in the browser where you saved it, and you can use JSON export as a backup you control.

Why NexaTabs

NexaTabs is optional here. Bookmarking all tabs works on its own in Chrome and Edge. NexaTabs adds named workspaces with notes, so a paused project comes back as a set with the reason you saved it, and workspace bookmarks keep durable links next to that project. Workspaces are stored locally in your browser, with no NexaTabs account or cloud sync. It works in Chrome and Edge and is free forever in its present form.

Benefits

- Every open tab saved in one step
- A shorter tab strip once the folder is saved
- A named folder you can reopen in one click
- A clear choice between a bookmark folder and a saved workspace

Save the set, clear the strip

Bookmark what you want to keep and save active projects to named workspaces. NexaTabs is free for Chrome and Edge.
