Workspaces stay on your device

NexaTabs is local-first. Workspaces, notes, and settings use chrome.storage.local on that browser profile. There is no NexaTabs account and no vendor cloud sync. You can export and import JSON backups yourself from Dashboard or popup Settings.

Local-only is not the same as encryption: use OS disk encryption for at-rest protection. NexaTabs also does not block third-party tracking on the websites you open — those sites still run their own scripts. The guarantee is narrower and clearer: NexaTabs does not upload your workspace graph.

Habit-based smart suggestions, when enabled, also stay local.

Limitations

Does not encrypt data by itself; does not block website tracking on live pages.

Is it free?

The present form is free; that is not a promise about every future edition.
