Clear the window without losing the session
Save and Close writes the current tab set into the active workspace, then closes those tabs so the window is empty. Use it at the end of a client block or the end of the day.
The workspace remains on the device and can be restored later with one click. This is workspace hygiene: fewer live pages, less RAM and CPU from background scripts, and a calmer next start.
It does not snapshot unsaved text inside a page editor. Save that work in the site first, then run Save and Close.
Limitations
Does not preserve unsaved in-page editor state.
FAQs
What does Save and Close do?
It stores the current tabs in a workspace and closes them.
Will I lose the tabs?
No. They are saved in the workspace and can be restored.
When should I use it?
At the end of a task, client session, or workday — the weekly hygiene habit for clean restarts.
Is it the same as quitting the browser?
No. Quitting may not keep a named, restorable workspace.
